Live at the castle concert to launch Ryder Cup year to go celebration

Ryder Cup Europe today announced the traditional Ryder Cup Year to Go celebration will kick-off with a special ‘Live at the Castle’ concert in Limerick, featuring live music as well as an appearance on stage from Captains Luke Donald and Jim Furyk.

Popular Irish bands The Coronas and BIIRD will perform at the event, which will take place at King John's Castle, on Sunday October 4, with doors opening from 6pm.

It will be hosted by Today FM Presenter Louise Cantillon, who will welcome European Captain Donald and United States Captain Furyk onto the stage for a live Q&A.

Fans can join the unique celebration, with tickets available to buy from 10am this Friday, September 4, via thislink. Tickets cost €30 for adults and €15 for juniors (under 18).

The ‘Live at the Castle’ event will launch the traditional Year to Go celebration, as the countdown continues to Adare Manor hosting the 2027 Ryder Cup from September 13-19, 2027.

As part of their visit to Limerick for the Year to Go, the two Captains will also take part in their first joint press conference, looking ahead to next year’s contest which will mark the 100-year anniversary of the Ryder Cup.

Richard Atkinson, the European Tour Group’s Chief Ryder Cup Officer, said: “The Year to Go Celebration is always a key milestone in the Ryder Cup journey and we have several things planned which will showcase Adare Manor, Limerick and Ireland to our global audience.

“Local community is such a big part of life in Ireland and we wanted to have an event as part of the celebrations that residents in Limerick can enjoy and help welcome the two Captains to their city for what will be Luke and Jim’s first joint appearance since their respective appointments earlier this year.

“We will also have some great live music on stage, with King John’s Castle providing a special backdrop, so it promises to be terrific evening for families to get involved in and be part of.”
